about

Davenport House has become renown for fabulous events, parties, and especially weddings. The house dates to 1726 and was built by the celebrated builders of their day; Francis Smith of Warwick on behalf of William Henry Davenport Esq who had returned from India with his fortune.

When asked what decorative features he wanted for the house he said he wanted everything and he certainly had it and is a fabulous example of the Smiths skill and craftsmanship with beautiful decorative features throughout from scrolling to intricate gold leafed details on the ceiling. The stunning house was then passed down through the generations.

That is what we want you to to experience at Davenport… Take a leaf out of William's book and have everything you could wish for to ensure your event is perfect.

The house continues to be a family home and the new proprietors are currently undertaking a sympathetic improvements and refurbishments to keep it as beautiful as Francis Smith built it.
